…for traditions and familiar smells that bring back memories of loving parents and grandparents.
…for not having to dish anyone else’s plate before my own. I hated being left with the turkey dark meat and rubbery Jell-O.

…for taking advantage of the fact that no one criticizes bad hair when the table has a full spread.
…for lots to eat, a warm home, a free country (or whatever is left after taxes).
…for four grown children and one son-in-law, all present and accounted for at the Thanksgiving table, who have big hearts with enough room for a sometimes overbearing mother.
…for three grandchildren who brighten my days with big hugs and who enjoy my company.
…for friends and family, early morning well wishes and gifts of food — and love in abundance.
Some of you make me smile, some of you actually “read” my blog, some of you are related, some of you bring me goodies, some of you have been there for me for many years through ups and downs, some of you I gave birth to, one or two of you I may have married, some of you make work an fun place to be, some of you just like in Michael Bublé’s song “I just haven’t meant you yet,” and some of you I love for no discernable reason except that I love having you in my life.
