I once dreamed I could fit my bulky king size fitted sheet back in its original wrapper. When I posted my blog about learning to fold a shirt in one fell swoop (still pretty cool), Frick (or was it Frack) emailed me back:
Hi, Penny: I read one of your items in So Humor Me and LOL. The one with the video on how to fold a shirt. I could never understand the video when I first saw it. I need voice instructions in English since the instructions on the video are Japanese. Well, the other day, maybe it was last month or even before Christmas, our son, the one married to the Naval Officer (a she) (love this little bit of information she gives me just in case my mind wondered just a tad) are now stationed in Hawaii and our son is working for Tommy Bahama, the fancy clothier. I forgot why I was writing this??? Oh, yea, Jason said that if we wanted to purchase something from Tommy Bahama to let him know since he gets a family discount (50% what a markup those stores have!). Anyway, while we were there in the Tommy Bahama Irvine store that I saw a shirt folding board and asked if I could buy it. No was the answer since they use it in the store BUT had I seen this video how to fold a shirt in 3 steps. Well, yes but I didn’t get it!!!!! So I was given full instructions on how to fold a shirt according to the video. WOW I was so excited, I proceeded to fold anything unfolded in the store, until Jim got so embarrassed and said I could really do this at home. What a great day…I bought a $120 sweater for $60 and learned how to fold a shirt quickly just like the video and had never mastered. Got home and folded away. Now if I could just learn to fold fitted sheets as easily. I have a method – put all the fitted corners into each other and smooth over the edges so that both ends make a rectangle, fold the longer end so that it touches the hem of the fitted sheet in thirds and that will give you a long folded article, fold the long article in thirds until is is 8×10 square. Did you get that??? I need a video to explain. Anyway, lets get together next week and bring your fitted sheet and I’ll show you. LOL
This is why we get along so well — breathing is unnecessary in our conversations. Here’s the video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Z5k9nWcuFc. Now put that into your sheet closet.

I though I knew how to fold a fitted sheet. I was only half way there. I am so excited. I am going home this weekend and refolding all my sheets. Thank you, Penny!
I didn’t know this was a secret that required a you tube video….
Now that I saw the videos on folding sheets, I am really convinced that I should have made a video years ago BUT with Japanese subtitles! haha
